Ghost of Obtuse
S/T C-30

"Ghost Of Obtuse is a duo of Josh Fink (plasmic formations, kvlt of unicron, antennae boy collaborator, ex-yes,collapse, etc) and M. Reis (teeth collection, kvlt of unicron, antennae boy, ex-yes,collapse, etc.). From the list of other projects, former groups, etc. one can tell that these dudes have played together a lot. The intuitive nature of there playing reflects thatÉ like most of their projects, this is entirely improvised, but most of the time you would probably think at least parts were worked out. Nope, total improv! For this new project they wanted to do something different than there usual blend of drone and scrapeÉ this is more reminiscent of Aufgehoben, fractured super effected beats (from live processed real drums being played in real time), rhythmic synth lines, total organic organization instead of abstract flow, and everything covered in filth." - Epicene

HEAVY WINGED
'The thinner the air' tape

Genre: heavy psychedelic
"Very pleased to announce that after much ongoing talk between me and the band, Blackest Rainbow will be issuing the very first Heavy Winged cassette. A total beast from this cross country American trio of Ryan, Jed and Brady recorded just after a 4 day east coast tour in November 2007 at Ryan's house in Vermont. The music switches between pure heavy repetitive riffing, drum kit massacre and shredding bass to more melancholy weird minimal bits, which actually co-inside with the last jam the band did before parting ways across the map. Nevertheless, this is another totally amazing and essential release from one of my favourite bands around right now. Limited to 200. Pro-dubbed cassettes." - BR

Kinit Her
"Glyms: Or Beame of Radicall Truthes" tape

Genre:avant garde
"Kinit Her's latest release cryptically titled "Glyms: Or Beame of Radicall Truthes" conjures up sound of an unholy musical alliance of haunted children, dark elves and giants, with a Gregorian monk thrown in to make it official. Congregating together in the depth of the earth as the nine worlds crumble around them. That's what it sounds like with all its echo-y subterranean reverberations, but its actually just three guys, and yet somehow it's better knowing that they exist and make this strange captivating music out of Wisconsin.

Glymns comes on like a gentle reminder that all things occult are alive and well, with songs shrouded in mysticism and intricate layers that shift from ethereal to doom laden, and some electronic distortion to remind you that you are listening to a relic of the present, not the past. The other wordly voices sing over slow-burning black metal that drifts into beautifully restrained ancient melodies and smoldering guitar swooning that sounds like the heroic longings of norse mythology. It's all very epic, but not embarassingly epic, and these guys pull it off while keeping it understated and sounding completely authentic.

Moments of timeless musical perfection can be heard on "The Arc of Acuity" in all it's baroque glory and menacing giggles, "The Fifth Refraction," combining mournful monk chants backed by handclaps, ahh, pure sacrilege. "Topaz of the Dead Giant" and "Crypt Cathedral Shine" make me want to pour wax in my ears so its the last thing I ever hear. You may not want to do that, but you'll find it hard to rip yourself away from this dark, alluring dreamscape, that is the soon to be religion, Kinit Her, I don't quite understand it all but I want to believe in it anyways. LIMITED TO 100 COPIES (purple cassette)

Raperies ( like Draperies )
our faces are formless like the stars C-40

"this one of those tapes that when you feel like yr kind of bored with noise, you listen too this and get excited again. Not yr typical harsh wallÉ this is a super dynamic electro-acoustic style flesh peeler. Yes itÕs heavy as shit at times, but it also shows a soft sideÉ something to contrast the heavy and make it seem all the more violent. Subtly is not always something you here in noise. But my man peter j. woods is on top of his fucking game.
